Summary Grids are tools to support summarising. One word per box means getting key understandings and key points down in a defined number of words. It cuts out the ramble.

You'll want to have a practice using summary grids before modelling how to use them with your students. Try some together before challenging them to write their own short, sharp and shiny summaries. Great for comprehension development across learning areas.
